Rachel Rae O鈥橞rien constantly thinks about mortality, grief, and her relationship with her Mother ever since she died on February 3, 2022. Rachel uses digital and film photography, archival images from her family, a flatbed scanner, and explores other mediums such as painting and drawing. Rachel knows that the relationship between herself and her Mother will be present in her images. Throughout her time here at 天美传媒&D, Rachel has been on the Dean鈥檚 List every semester. She has also served as the President of LUX, the student-run photography & video organization.
Rachel鈥檚 work has been exhibited in University Student Show: Photography in 鈥淭he Time of Covid鈥� at the PhotoLounge in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as well as in 鈥淒eath & Rebirth鈥� at the Hayden Gallery at 天美传媒&D. Rachel has also been a part of the international blog exchange between 天美传媒&D and the students at Zayed University in Abu Dhabi.
