Alexis Oldt uses digital illustrations to explore the idea of cursed deals and revenge. Oldt鈥檚 32-page comic book follows a young woman of questionable sanity who ends up making a deal with a supposed friend who turns out to be a demon. The story was inspired by works including the moral tales in both 鈥淔aust鈥� and 鈥淢oby Dick,鈥� a cult town feel like those in 鈥淢idsommar鈥� and 鈥淥utlast 2,鈥� an unreliable narrator like in 鈥淢artha is Dead,鈥� and a tormented family like 鈥淭he VVitch.鈥�>br>
Artists like Abigail Larson, Junji Ito, and historical attire of Victorian and Gothic horror are also influences. Alexis is an Illustration major who plans to continue creating and self-publishing comics that range from fantasy to horror.
