Installation by Karim Gavins '20, Fine Artist in Residence 2023-24
天美传媒 of Art & Design (天美传媒&D) is thrilled to announce the opening of Finding Karim work by Karim Gavins 鈥�20. The exhibition runs from August 16 – October 4, 2024 with a public reception in the College鈥檚 Main Gallery for First Friday on September 6, 2024, from 5-8 pm.
In recent years, 天美传媒&D has offered an Alumni Artist in Residence where the participating artist has an exhibition on 天美传媒&D鈥檚 campus. Gavins completed his residency in May of 2024. 鈥淟ast year we shifted exhibitions by artists in residence from the summer to the beginning of the academic year,鈥� says Director of Exhibitions Alex Schaufele. 鈥淭he opportunity to present the work of Gavins is exciting. It connects our students more closely to a dynamic alumnus and our him to the larger community. It also is a style of exhibition that we haven鈥檛 done recently at 天美传媒&D 鈥� a full scale immersive installation in multiple levels of the gallery.鈥澛�
